Just over a year ago, Janine and her partner Dennis, together with their three children, started a new chapter in Helmond. After living in Brandevoort for five years, the family felt it was time for something new. A home of their own, as a blended family, with more comfort and space now that the children are getting older. They found that fresh start in a beautiful new-build home, which they could furnish entirely according to their own wishes. With great attention to detail, the house was put together from top to bottom, from the living room to the bathroom. Throughout, a conscious choice was made for tranquility, unity, and warmth. The result is a stylish whole where everything is just right. On the ground floor, all the furniture comes from Room108, ensuring a perfect balance in atmosphere and appearance. In this house tour, we would like to take you inside this stylish home.

Take a look inside Janine's warm, minimalist interior.

The perfect location for the family

One of the biggest advantages of the home is its location. The house is centrally located, and the family can reach the center of Eindhoven in no time. That was an important factor, both for themselves and for the children.

In addition, the house was move-in ready, which ensured they felt right at home immediately. “We are truly in love with our house,” says Janine. “I was given plenty of freedom to decorate it entirely to my own taste. Dennis focused on the renovation, while I focused on the details and choosing matching materials.”.

With a blended family and three children, it was important to create a place where everyone feels at home. A house that is not only beautiful, but also practical and comfortable.

The search for the perfect sofa

One of the most important elements in the living room was the sofa. For Janine and her family, this had to become the place to relax together.

That search actually started by chance. Through acquaintances, Janine & Dennis first came into contact with a bank from Room108.

Not much later, they stepped into the store. Eindhoven inside, initially just with the plan to buy a sofa. There, they saw the Carmen displayed, combined with a rug and coffee tables. “It just felt absolutely perfect,” she says. “We ordered it exactly as it was shown in the store. And the sofa is incredibly comfortable!”

In the end, they opted for the Carmen in the color Guard Liver 10, including an ottoman. But it didn't stop there. Also the dining table Marseille (finished in black with a black asymmetrical spider leg), dining room chairs (Finn in Alpine Natural 01 fabric and a black base), lamp, and bar stools were added to their order. “When we were drawing up the order, we kept coming across more beautiful combinations. It matched so well that we were finished in one go.”

A warm minimalist living style

Janine's interior style is best described as warm minimalist. A style in which tranquility and simplicity are combined with atmosphere and softness.

The use of various materials and textures creates a layered and inviting whole. At the same time, a conscious decision was made not to style the interior down to the last detail. “We spent so long on the preparations, designing and realizing the house (and making choices), that afterwards it just felt right the way it was.” Instead of finishing everything at once, Janine lets her interior grow gradually. She adds new accessories and personal items during travels or whenever she comes across something special. In this way, the house remains in motion and gains more and more character.

Everything comes together in the living room.

The living room has ultimately become the heart of the house. The Carmen fits perfectly in the space and forms the centerpiece, literally and figuratively. “Many people think the sofa is big when they visit, a bold but cool choice,” says Janine. “But for us, it is just right.” She notices that people often hesitate to choose a large sofa, even though it can actually complete the room. It makes the living room cozy and warm.

Moreover, it is ideal for a family of five: everyone has their own spot and no one ever has to 'fight' for seating. The comfort and appearance complete the picture.
