We are allowed to look inside Nora's industrial chic home in Rotterdam. She lives with her husband and 2 children in a new-build home.
Interior phases
Nora and her husband bought the house in 2006. In the meantime, they have had 2 children and the house has already gone through various 'phases'. “When we came into the house we were in the 'red area' as we call it. We had a bright red niche wall and all kinds of red accessories. We then switched to baroque wallpaper and a gloss white kitchen, both very different from what we have now,” laughs Nora.
Successful Instagram account
It is clear that Nora knows about interior styling, what a beautiful interior! She likes to share her hobby with others. “I started this account during the Corona period, when there were many restrictions. I couldn't pursue my hobbies, my social life was largely at a standstill and I had nowhere to express my creativity.” Nora put her creativity into an interior design account on Instagram that now has more than 50,000 followers. “I like to follow interior-related programs, living trends and in my own way I try to inspire others through my account.”
Story behind the name
The account is called @7021instyle and 7021 is the number of the black/gray color that can be seen everywhere in the interior. “During the renovation we wanted to give the niche wall a new color. We then looked at various color samples and decided on the RAL 7021 color. Both my husband and I absolutely love this color!”
Industrial chic interior
The interior they have now is sleek and dark, but still quiet. They have sleek furniture with a number of eye-catchers that they are very proud of. “The eye-catchers are the large sofa, the niche wall and the black kitchen,” says Nora. Since the extension, the interior has gone from industrial to industrial chic. They have combined the sturdy furniture with chic furniture, which makes it very attractive. The interior has been well thought out, it fits together and is practically furnished. “My husband is very involved when it comes to the interior. We enjoy discussing it together.”

A match
Nora and her husband found the sofa at Room108 Rotterdam. “I came across Room108 on Instagram and there were several banks that appealed to me. I really hadn't had this anywhere else, but of course it's not just any sofa!” They chose a corner sofa Annabelle Square upholstered with fabric Guard Graphite 66. “The children also think the sofa is fantastic. They often bring friends along to 'chill' on the couch and that is easy because it is a really spacious couch.” “My favorite moment on the couch is when the morning sun shines in and I can quietly drink a cup of coffee on the longchair, a truly enjoyable moment!”
