We are taking a peek at Ashley's cozy japandi interior. She and Bob live in a beautiful new-build home in Nuenen.
TRANSFORMING A CASCO HOUSE INTO YOUR OWN PLACE
We are entering Ashley's cool and attractive home. She has lived here with her boyfriend Bob since 2020. “We used to live in an apartment on a busy street. We had been looking for a single-family home with a garden for a while. At last we came across this project and we signed up. The house came in hull state but we had already drawn up a complete plan in advance about the design, colors and use of materials,” Ashley says. “We did everything ourselves, except the kitchen and bathroom. We also really like DIY projects. For example, we designed and made the dining room sofa and built-in cupboard completely ourselves!” You can tell this is really Ashley's thing, as she is an interior design consultant herself. The house is beautifully decorated and it's a beautiful whole!
CORNER SOFA CLOE, A WONDERFUL SPECIMEN
In the living room sofa Cloë from Room108 is showing off, a perfect match with the cozy Japandi style of the interior. The sitting area is also the favorite spot in the house. Ashley tells us more about the corner sofa: “We purchased our sofa at Room108 Eindhoven, where we were carried on all fours by Yenthe. The conversation in the store was very nice and great fun. Yenthe took her time and discussed all the possibilities of the collection with us. We used to have a sloppy soft sofa, we were now going for a more tight one with sleek cushions.” In the store in Eindhoven, their eye fell on the Cloë sofa, upholstered with a velor fabric: Seven Shitake. “We didn't want to opt for a standard beige fabric, the Shitake color is just that nice little bit different and fits our style perfectly. The fabric is also vandal-proof and besides that we have an extra warranty with the 108% SAFE package which is ideal!”
FAVORITE SPOT AND FUTURE WISHES
The favorite spot in the house, as we mentioned before, is the sitting area with corner sofa Cloë. “It is a wonderful sofa, we also like to sit there with visitors. In fact, the sofa is so comfortable that we prefer to eat there rather than at the table! The chaise longue is a favorite after a day of work,” Ashley shares enthusiastically. “I once posted the sofa on Instagram, and then received a lot of comments and questions about where it came from. Of course I redirected them all to Room108!😉”
Do Ashley and Bob have any future wishes regarding the house? Yes indeed! They still want to tackle the attic, installing a roof conservatory and bath. The bedroom will then also be located there. So quite the project. “In addition, I will keep on rearranging and changing accessories and furniture, I just love that!”, Ashley states.
