We are allowed to look inside Joyce's cozy home. Joyce lives alone in a beautiful apartment at the Kralingse Plas in Rotterdam.
Passion for styling
Joyce has lived in her beautiful apartment for 24 years. “I'm in a good place here, you really can't get me out of here,” says Joyce, laughing. “It is a pre-war house and therefore monumental. Not much has changed in the past 24 years. On the interior by the way!” And we think that is only logical. Joyce has been working as an interior stylist for 18.5 years with great pleasure and passion and you immediately see that when you enter her home.
''Light, cozy, lounge and warm''
Joyce does not really describe her interior as a specific living style. “I also find it harder to say for myself,” she explains. “When I enter somewhere, I can immediately say: this is eclectic or modern. For me it is not modern or rural, but it does contain elements of both living styles. A real combination. I would call it 'light, cozy, lounge and warm', quite a mouthful!”. We have to admit, we get what she means. The house has a warm and attractive appearance as soon as you enter. With the living room as a cozy corner and a beautiful corner sofa that you immediately see as an eye-catcher.
Joyce likes to change her interior regularly. “Twice a year I give my living room a major makeover. Then there will be different wallpaper on the wall, other accessories and other cushions on the sofa. I also like to adapt my interior to the season. In the autumn I bring autumn branches into the house and in the spring blossom branches appear again."
Search for the perfect sofa
Joyce bought a corner sofa Gigi at Room108 Rotterdam. “I received tremendous help there. I was really unsure between a Gigi and one Elise. Both beautiful models, but because I only have a small house, I thought it would be nicer if the sofa stood on legs. Then the living room looks a bit more spacious. And so it became the Gigi.” The corner sofa at Joyce is made in Alpine Natural 01.
Her favorite spot on the couch is undoubtedly the lounge. “When I come home from work exhausted, I like to lie back and watch a movie. That is wonderful in this sofa!”
