We are allowed to look inside Ràchel's attractive home in Enschede. She lives with her husband and two sons and a little daughter is on the way.
Moving unexpectedly
Ràchel and her husband received the key in June 2021. They previously lived in a new-build house nearby, but were not necessarily looking for another home. At the time Rachel had registered for all new construction projects nevertheless. At the end of 2019 they were told that they had been selected. They decided to take a look, got excited and decided to move after all.
The start of the Instagram account
Ràchel was very curious about the new neighbors and wanted to know what their plans were for the new home. Then she received Juliëtte's telephone number through back channels. Ràchel and Juliëtte got into contact together and eventually started an Instagram account to get inspiration for the interior of the new homes. “We encountered very different questions, such as where to best place your sofa: on the long side or in front of the window. Strangely enough, you can find answers to those kinds of questions on Instagram. As well as a lot of inspiration by the way! When our houses were completely finished, we also started sharing interior pictures of ourselves, which can be admired on the Instagram account @East West home is best.” That was a great success!
Combining interior style
Ràchel describes the home decorating style as “neutral with a bit of industrial accents”. The steel doors and black accents reflect the industrial look in the interior. The home also features many light colors. “There are also many light colors in the home. “I also think the light gray color of the sofa is very beautiful because you can combine it with many different color accents.” And we can tell Ràchel is doing a good job combining!
The perfect sofa
Ràchel has the corner sofa Christiane with ottoman in the Lund Gray 65 fabric. The choice of sofa was quickly made. Ràchel and her husband visited kotter living to view different fabric samples and sofas. Corner sofa Christiane was exactly what they had in mind. Ràchel describes the sofa as a bit playful because of the extra stitch seams. "You can also safely drop a crumb on it once in a while, which is especially useful with the children." The favorite spot on the sofa is undoubtedly the corner near the lounge area. Ràchel would like to add an ottoman so that you can also lie down on the other side of the sofa.
